HARD EDGES Hard Edges is an improvising brass trio comprising Chris Dowding (trumpet, piccolo trumpet & flugelhorn), Dave Amis (trombone) and Ben Higham (tuba, trumpet & flugelhorn). Hard Edges explore the sound palette and textures of three brass voices, from explosive blasts to more subtle multiphonics, drones and more. The collaboration grew out of various other groupings and influences. That month, they also led the ‘overtones and undertones’ workshop at YARMONICS and consequently performed with participants at this sonic arts festival in Great Yarmouth.
